In the blistering heat on June 30 and July 1, the West Nyack 8u All Stars finished in 2nd place at the 6th Annual Yorktown Tournament.  It was a positive experience for the kids, coaches, and parents.  The hard work at practices paid off and showed the potential of this team.

Game 1

The tournament was off to a rough start as we lost to the eventual champions, the Yorktown Spartans, 10-0.  The Spartans pitching and defense held the All Stars to only 1 baserunner.

Game 2

The All Stars needed a big victory in order to avoid playing a 3rd game for the day and they came through.  Led by great pitching, timely hitting, and strong defense, the whole team bounced back and put together an impressive win over the Yorktown Heat, 16-4.

Game 3

Looking to carry over the momentum from the previous game, the All Stars shined again and proved they were contenders.  The lead changed hands several times but the team showed great resiliency and won 6-4.

Game 4

Riding on high emotions, the team came ready to play.  Our pitching held the Yorktown Spartans to only 1 run through the first 2 innings but we were not able to capitalize on scoring opportunities and eventually lost 10-0.
